Helga Franza

Helga Franza (Messina 1967) is a multidisciplinary artist, she uses various media such as sculpture, drawing, and painting to create connections between different perceptions of planetary time and space. Helga’s work also includes collective and curatorial projects, to create a shared ‘scene’ or a fertile soil for art.
Since 2011 she has been co-founder of Cose Cosmiche, a collective of research, production, and collision of ideas in which artists, scientists, and researchers from different disciplines are invited to show their research on space, time, energy, and void.
In 2015 Cose Cosmiche started Les Sublime Archive an online archive that collects notebooks and that privilege an attitude to slow down and share ideas. In the same year they started the project Conferenza Passeggiando a collective action, which aims to design and trace conference paths on the move. Since 2027 she has co-curated Residenze Insensate a multidisciplinary residency program based on senseless projects.
Since 2021 she is the co-founder of Volcanic Attitude, a nomadic festival of contemporary culture, which aims to bring together the research of visual artists with experts in various scientific disciplines and volcanic territories, to investigate the primary forces of nature and the Cosmos.
Since 2024 she co-curate the window project-space Sconfina in Milano.
She is the founder of Fondazione Arthur Cravan, inspired by the Dada artist Arthur Cravan, which supports, produces, and promotes artistic ideas and projects considered ‘Unrealizable’.
The idea of threads connecting time, space, bodies, and attitudes creates a continuous resonance within her daily practice and her teaching of Yoga (since 2008) and Tai Chi Chuan (since 2010)—activities that become an integral part of her artistic research.
