Ana Škegro
Ana Škegro is a curator interested in how exhibitions shape perception. Her work explores listening as a curatorial method and examines how contemporary art can expand sensory experience through sound, media, accessibility, and embodied forms of knowledge. Bringing together artistic research, ecological thinking, and experimental exhibition-making, she develops projects that invite audiences to experience the museum not only as a place of looking, but also of listening, sensing, and collective inquiry.
As Senior Curator, Head of the Experimental and Research Department, and Head of the Media Art Collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb (MSU), she has (co)curated exhibitions including The Visible Ones (2023–2025), The Smell of Freshly Chopped Wood (2024–2025), Jan St. Werner: Vibraception – Investigations in Wavespace (2024–2025), SintArt 18 (2025), and SintArt 20 (2026), as well as Search for a New Reality (2018-2019), Forest To Go (2019), Attention, Landscape! (2020), and Sean Scully: Passenger (2022-2023). Her projects often emerge through long-term collaborations with artists, researchers, and communities, combining exhibition-making with public programmes, performance, and participatory research.
Alongside her curatorial practice, Škegro develops collaborative institutional models through international projects, including Museum of the Commons, The Arts of Resistance, BEAM UP – Blind Engagement in Accessible Museum Projects, and Voyage Inside a Blind Experience. In 2016 she founded the MSU Youth Club, an ongoing platform for co-creation with young people that reflects her broader interest in museums as spaces for shared learning, experimentation, and cultural participation.
